11-30-01—- French Sentai Team

According to the post by Sany:

Squeeze in your spandex now, cause there´s a new super hero team in town. Following close on the tradition of the “Power Rangers”, the FRANCE FIVE is a group of, well, five individuals of outstanding courageousness who have devoted themselves to the protection of our planet. As ultra-evil Glou Man Chou attempts to subdue Earth with all its denizens, it´s up to Red Fromage, Black Beaujolais, Blue Accordeon, Yellow Baguette and Pink a la mode (you can´t make up such a thing, man) to stave off the attacks of the universe´s scourge.

As with every sentai team a secret source of power is indispensable. Lucky we, since France has already come with its own version of the Tokyo Tower. With the the Eiffel tower emiting powerful force waves to promit any mass arrival of the enemy, all what the FRANCE FIVE has to do is to preserve Gustav Eiffel´s creation from Glou Man Chou´s insidious actions. Their first adventure being mastered with bravery, the five has already geared toward the second episode. And if you´re still wondering what the hell this Sany guy is talking about, why don´t swing by and see it for yourself. Click on DOWNLOAD and let the action sweeps you away. Go FRANCE FIVE! 🙂

11-30-01—- Ultraman Items

From Daniel:

Anyway, here’s what’s new about Ultraman. “With the secrecy surrounding the release of the ULTRAMAN COSMOS movie, expectations for this new production were high. This was compounded by the success of the previous three Ultraman series and the fact that the premier was on July 7, 2001 to commemorate Eiji Tsuburaya’s 100th birthday.

“Tsuburaya Productions had successfully prepared Ultraman for the new millennium by producing three auspicious and highly entertaining series, ULTRAMAN TIGA (1996-1997), ULTRAMAN DYNA (1997-1998) and ULTRAMAN GAIA (1998-1999). All three inspired their own feature films; original video adventures, live stage performances and continued the Ultraman merchandising empire.

“Unfortunately, with ULTRAMAN COSMOS, Tsuburaya went in a new, but very familiar direction, focusing on a younger audience. This trend actually started with the short Bandai infomercials starring the aptly named ULTRAMAN NICE

————————————————————————— —–
Available prizes in the Prize Vault PRIZES!!!
This is what it’s all about folks! The prizes! We’ll not for me it’s not. I don’t get to have any of the prizes. ~_~ But what this means is that you get one better chance to get PRIZES!!! What you need to envision is Happosai from Ranma 1/2. Instead of him going crazy about braziers, you’re going crazy about PRIZES!!! Below you will find some of the prizes you can pick form once you win, because it’s going to be you* who wins!!!

*Warning May not be you.

————————————————————————— —–
Reminder to vote Even more than entering in the contest to get PRIZES!!! you need to vote! How can anyone win if you don’t view the entries and vote for your favorite! You only get one vote so pick wisely!

I just remembered something… You can’t vote!!! It’s not because you aren’t old enough. It’s because we don’t have a previous month’s contest to vote on! This means that you can vote on November 1st for October’s contest but that’s not for a heck-a long time. Just something to keep in the back of your mellon.

————————————————————————— —–

Last months winner Don’t forget to check the previous winners. These are the people you have to train night and day to become better than them. You have to train like Goku did on his way to Namak or like the sailor scouts did! Oh wait… I don’t think the sailor scouts did much training for any battle. So not like the sailor scouts. Probably more Tenchi. Sorry I’m naming these old school anime, nothing new is coming into mind.

There is only one problem with this. Our site is tooooo new!!! WE HAVE NO PREVIOUS MONTHS!!! So this means that you are going to have to be disciplined and train without knowing your rivals abilities and special attacks. Maybe I should lay off the competition bit. I mean art isn’t meant to be a competition. It’s meant to look nice and increase a person’s view on the world. To share creative ideas… yea. I like that… Everyone will get prizes. Oh crap! we don’t have that many prizes ~_~ I’m sorry it will have to stay a competition. We aren’t made of money you know. A lot of these prizes are coming out

11-16-01—- Docomo Preparing Wireless Multimedia Content Rollout

According to this allnetdevices article Japan’s NTT DoCoMo is about to start distributing video and other multimedia over it’s 3G Wireless phone service: The multimedia service, dubbed i-motion, will become available to the company’s 3G customers on November 19, the company said. The company said that 28 content providers initially will offer the videos. The videos and other multimedia can be downloaded from sites that are accessed via DoCoMo’s wireless portal. The company said that, initially, the content providers will offer promotional videos and news clips, still frames with sound showing scenes from popular movies, and music files. The multimedia service will be included in the basic monthly fee paid for subscribers of DoCoMo’s 3G service, which goes by the brand name of FOMA. The company said it also will start selling a handset on November 19 that is compatible with i-motion. DoCoMo has been gradually rolling out FOMA throughout Japan since its initial roll-out in early October. It currently is available throughout the Tokyo area and is being expanded to other areas of the country. DoCoMo is trying to repeat its success with the i-mode data service, which supports slower speeds. It claims nearly 30 million i-mode subscribers since the product’s introduction in 1999, making it, by far, the most successful wireless data service in the world. DoCoMo said that the i-motion service will be available everywhere FOMA is currently available.

“”Sen”‘s stay at the top might be short-lived, as “Harry Potter” looks to be a strong performer in Japan once it opens in early 2002.”

11-16-01—- X-Box And Sony

This is from

“In a recent interview with The Financial Times, Kunitake Ando, president and CEO of Sony, said that the Microsoft Xbox, which comes with a hard drive and Ethernet adapter out of the box, could force the company to transition to the PS3 earlier than intended. “The biggest threat to the PlayStation 2 is that the Xbox changes the industry’s life cycle,” said Ando, who feels that it is unclear whether the current PS2 business model is sustainable and that its console life cycle could be reduced to three years as a result. Although sales of the PlayStation 2 console remain strong, Ando said that the company is still in the process of recuperating its high front-end chip manufacturing costs….

“Research for and development of the PlayStation 3 is already under way. Sony has partnered with Toshiba and IBM, as part of a combined $400 million, five-year investment, to develop the technology for the PS3. Production of the chip, at last report, was slated to begin in 2004. According to Sony, the new chip design will be fundamentally different from what the company has used in the past and will have a greater focus on delivering communication and broadband services.”
