Hi, I came across this interesting post on the madman entertainment fourm (australian distro for ADV, manga and Funimation titles) it is a reply letter from tiffany grant, it mentions that there will be many interviews including one that she did with Mr. Yamaga at Fanime con it will appear on the eva movies dvd's i've posted the post below
http://www.madman.com.au/madboard/Forum10/HTML/000131.html
Ok, some of you will remember a while ago I sent an email off to Tiffany Grant asking her whats up with the voices. I know this issue has been resolved but I'll just post it here anyway.
-----------------
Hello Adrian,
Thank you so much for your kind, supportive letter. WIthout fans like you, there would be no point in doing these shows. I am so glad you enjoyed Eva & my performance in it. It was a great thrill & hoor fo rme to be able to participate on such a ground breaking show.
I have no idea whatsoever how there could be any rumors that I am not working on the Eva movies. Ever since Manga Entertainment announced they had rights to them, they began confirming that we all wanted to reprise our roles. I was contacted by Manga about three days after the official announcement. That was July 1999, and the plans do seem to be finally coming together.
At Fanime Con in San Jose last weekend, they began recording the first of many interviews that will appear on the DVD - including myself & Gainax co-counder, Mr. Yamaga (co-producer of the NGE series & movies).
-- Has there been any of the original cast that has not lent their voice in the movies? And if so who?
Well, it looks like we will begin recording in a few months time. The translation should begin soon, and then the adaptaion will be written. I will be sure to put out updates when there is actual news to report. So, since we have not yet recorded, I can't exactly answer your question. I had heard at one point that 12 or 13 original cast members were confirmed. I am not sure who will portray Toji as there were actually three different VAs for the role in the series.
Thanks once again, for your support, Adrian, I truly appreciate it.
Best wishes, Tiffany Grant
Toji had 3 OVA? Weird
I got this from the April 6th edition of www.imdb.com:
"Sony's Columbia Pictures Productions (Asia) is planning to produce a number of Chinese-language films in Hong Kong, several of which will feature stars of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, the Hong Kong Oriental Daily reports. The company, according to the newspaper, is currently preparing to produce a "Charlie's Angels-style film" with "a bevy of beautiful actresses, " including Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon singer ("A Love Before Time) Coco Lee. The film, titled Angels of the Dusk, is due to be shot in Thailand and Shanghai. Columbia has also signed Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon star Zhang Ziyi to star in a film titled Golden Zenith, the newspaper said. Each of the films, the newspaper said, was budgeted at about $5 million."

There was a small error on the Sonic 2 release date. It will be June 19, not the 23rd. And according to gamespot, it will be a worldwide release.

And finally, if you feel like posting this, AICN has linked the Rush Hour 2 trailer.
Takara has announced that they will indeed be releasing a reissue of Starscream, one of the most evil characters from the Transformers series. The figure, as with all of the reissues, will be recast from the original mold, and will therefore be an exact reproduction.
It is unknown at this point if Takara will also release variants of the figure, but it is probably a safe bet that we'll at least see a black variant of some kind.
Also unknown at this point is whether or not Takara will continue with the reissue line, despite the fact that it has been a solid hit with collectors. The fact that Takara had no Transformers on display at the Tokyo Toy Fair might spell bad news for the line, but only time will tell.
Starscream will retail for around $40.00 in the US.
Takara has announced the lineup for the third wave of their popular PVC versions of generation one Transformers. Act 3 will feature figures of much more varied heights than the previous two series, and will apparently there will be no more clear variants.
Act 3 will include:
Fortess Maximus (standing nearly 5") Raiden (the Trainbot combiner, not seen in US) Soundwave Sixshot Chromedome Ironhide Bumblebee and Spike "Rare" figures will include: Battle Damaged Optimus Prime Clear Pink Megatron (simulating his transformation by Unicron in Transformers: The Movie) These new PVCs are available for pre-order now in many online stores. Also, PVC Act 2 is just now hitting US shores! The set includes Rodimus Prime, Optimus Prime in Truck Mode, Minerva (originally repainted and released as Nightbeat in the US), Grimlock, and Super Ginrai (Powermaster Optimus Prime). Koto is unveiling new Jo Jo's Bizarre Adventures figures of Joseph Joestar and Hole Horse. The two which will make up the sixth figure set is U.S. bound in the fourth quarter of this year courtesy Diamond. GS: What's the status of the new Dragon Ball Z games?
RW: Our Wizard Works division in Minneapolis is developing Dragon Ball Z. The studio has to work with a very quick turnaround time on the license. So, we're talking a far shorter term there I think, when compared with Superman. We're going to bring out a Dragon Ball Z game first, but then we've got some great ideas on how to extend the franchise. We would like to bring out at least two products using that license.
From the official Dragonball Z FAQ at www.dragonballz.com:
Q: What are future plans for Dragon Ball?
A: Dragon Ball will begin airing on Cartoon Network June 4. Dragon Ball will run in time slot immediately after Dragon Ball Z, at 5:30pm Eastern Standard Time. The first 28 episodes of DB will air through the month of June. These episodes will contain the original music from the Japanese series. This is going to be a blast, so be sure to tune in.

I appreciate any and all help you can give.
Recently, we've all found out about the problems at eFront. Today it was announced that as of April 5th at midnight PST, all sites hosted on eFront will be gone. At this point, my own site ("Daizenshuu EX") and other sites hosted by Anime Network ("Temple o' Trunks," included) are already gone from browsers (we are in the process of downloading as much as we can from our FTP before it's gone to back things up).
I want to stress that both "Daizenshuu EX" and "Temple o' Trunks" will return in full-force in the near future.
Right now, I'm keeping our main page up on my old AOL URL from "VegettoEX's Home Page" (http://members.aol.com/VegettoEX).
Despite the fact that our regular URL is gone forever, we're breaking the latest news concerning "DragonBall," and the fact that FUNimation Productions, Inc. will be using the original Japanese score in their English dub of the original "DragonBall" TV series, which will begin this June on Cartoon Network.
According to Gamespot ,Sammo Hung will be directing the animated Soul Calibur movie.
Jagged Team mentions that Harvest Moon III will be on PS, with the cel shading prevalent in Jet Grind Radio.
The Japanese release date for Sonic 2 is June 23. This information was obtained at Jagged Team.
Pictures of the Biohazard collection set are availabe at Jagged Team.
AICN has a link for a trailer to Beat Kitano's newest movie, Brother. Sony will be distributing the film here, and their official site for Brother is also linked at the url.
This Jagged Team Link mentions that Konami is working on a Suikoden 3 for PS2.
Also, according to DVD File,"Rhino has just announced good news for fans of robots, two new episode collections of The Transformers due on 5/8. Villains features three episodes "The Ultimate Doom" parts 1, 2 and 3, while Heroes features "Rebirth." Both discs are priced at $19.95, feature full frame transfers, and English 5.1 surround tracks."
And this week DBZ dropped to #3 spot.

In the grand tradition of last year's Final Fantasy IX cross-promotion with Cola-Cola, Square has announced another series of collectable figurines to promote the company's latest Final Fantasy. Starting this month in Japan, select 500ml bottles of Coca-Cola will include one of thirty-two figures modeled after the cast of Final Fantasy X. Each character will be available in realistic or super-deformed style in both fully-painted or crystal (clear red) variations.
Only leads Tidus and Yuna have been revealed so far, but presumably new members of the game's cast will follow. If the set continues the trend of having four variations of each, at least three new characters should be revealed over the course of the promotion.

We've seen Japanese artists like Kia Asamiya pay homage to American characters, so why not have American artists pay tribute to Japanese ones?
With the rising popularity of anime and manga in the United States, WIZARD: THE COMICS MAGAZINE decided to ask some of today's hottest creators to come up with their own, personal renditions of some popular, Japanese properties. Much like the "Big '80s" feature that ran in WIZARD #111, in which several artists reinterpreted such properties as "G.I. Joe"and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", the Manga Dream Teams feature promises to be a hit with anime fans and non-fans alike.
In issue #116, available now in comic shops, witness the fantastic artwork of Alex Ross (Universe X, Kingdom Come) on GATCHAMAN, Steve Skroce (Wolverine, The Matrix) on ASTRO BOY, Christian Gossett (The Red Star) on AKIRA, Michael Turner (Fathom) on TRIGUN, Joseph Michael Linsner (Dawn) on SPEED RACER and Dan Fraga (The Gear Station) on VOLTRON.

At the Fanime Con panel, we announced our plans for releasing the new Vampire Hunter D movie this year! We are planning a theatrical run in September, shooting for a wider release than how anime has been shown so far, which has only been in art houses. We would like to hit the top 20 cities in the US (at the very least, the top 8) to begin with, and then judging from responses and requests, we would be glad to extend the release schedule. If all goes according to plan, we will follow up with a home video and DVD release around Christmas. We should be finalizing the schedule soon, and will let everyone know what develops! At the panel, we had voice actor information, storyboards and original press materials for viewing, such as the Korean and Japanese movie posters. On April 21, 2001, Vampire Hunter D will make its theatrical debut in both countries. For pictures, check out Fans View courtesy of Kevin Lillard. Not mentioned at the panel is the fact that there will be a whole lineup of Vampire Hunter D merchandise along with the movie! More details as that develops!
The Japanese website is up for Vampire Hunter D! While it is still under a bit of construction, feel free to check it out at http://www.hunterd.com - currently it's only in Japanese, but the English site is in development.

It was inevitable, but the final episode of Hunter x Hunter was so unsatisfied. Because the current stories still continue on Jump magazine. In a similar case, Dragon Ball Z continued airing, but story went very slowly. Hunter x Hunter stopped gracefully to avoid the same mistake, but a sequel is seriously required in the future. Source: Anihabara The latest DBZ collectible card game release, The Trunks Saga, has sold out the first print run, and with demand still strong, Score is going back to press. The quick sellout of The Trunks Saga, which is the most popular DBZ release ever, indicates that the DBZ game is still picking up steam.
Dragonball Z is currently the top-rated cartoon on the Cartoon Network's Toonami block with ratings that beat MTV's for boys from 11-16 (see "Toonami Ratings Soar"). DBZ has also remained either in first or second place on the Lycos Top 50 listing of the most popular search topics for the past three months. With over 100 new episodes of Dragonball Z and the original Dragonball series slated to run on the Cartoon Network in the next twelve months, DBZ appears to be a "franchise" product with lots of "legs" left (there were over 500 episodes of DBZ produced in Japan). The ratings for the DBZ cartoon have continued to grow over the past television season, with the quick sellout of The Trunks Saga, it appears that the DBZ CCG is gaining in momentum as well.

Source: Anihabara Manga Entertainment announced they would not be editing the End Of Evangelion movie and attempt to do their best to translate and sub/dub it as close to the original as possible, a translator has been asigned. Dubbing is through the studio that Amanda Winn Lee started. Most of the orignal English voice cast will reprise their roles.
Manga is releasing Death & Rebirth plus the theatrical release of End of Eva. A DVD collection set may be in the works.
Pete's Plank's report sent into Anime On DVD has a few Bandai details from Fanime:
All Gundam "One Year War" series are slated to appear this year. (08th MS Team, 0083, 0080, and the original Gundam TV series). Beginning in June more Gundam series, including some OAV series will be released. The original Gundam TV series will be DUB ONLY, however the original Gundam movies will be released on DVD, subtitled, in November as a box set. 08th MS Team is due in August (sub/dub). The DVD release of other catalogue titles in being delayed in favor of progressing with the Gundam release.
A large 18 wheeled Gundam truck will begin traveling around the country starting this weekend and extending through September. It will be showcasing merchandise such as model kits, and action figures.
The Big-O DVD (no VHS) will be released, much like Jubei-chan on four discs. VHS will only be used for mass-market titles. Other titles currently in work include Fancy La-La, Betterman, Z-Mind and Saber Marionette J to X (which includes three dub tracks: English, Spanish and Japanese). The Crest of the Stars, a science fiction series about a boy sent to live with a conquering alien race, DVD has been delayed 2 months. They also stated that they are still experimenting with how many episodes to distribute on a DVD.
Love Hina will not be coming out for a while; Bandai was not planning on announcing it at this con since they wanted to prevent the anticipation generated by "other" companies when announcing titles too far in advance.
There is no hard date set for Candidate for Goddess, which will air on Cartoon Network's Toonami as "Pilot Candidate". Bandai is considering things like a reversible cover (with the original title "Candidate for Goddess") or an alternate angle intro animation with the correct title if fans request. Bandai is only calling this series "Pilot Candidate" for US release; all other markets will refer to it as Candidate for Goddess.
A full theatrical wide release for Escaflowne has not been decided. Jin-roh will premiere on the 28th of May in Long Beach. Mamoru Oshii will be attending (and potentially many anime-fan celebrities such as James Cameron). Full rollout will begin at the end of June in New York and Seattle. This will be a limited release initially; if it does well it may be expanded. Viz will be handling the theatrical release while Bandai does the home release. For more info and release information visit http://jin-roh.net.
It hasn't been decided if there will be extras included with the Cowboy Bebop DVD box set, though things like an extra disc, toy, poster, etc. have been discussed. Blue Sub will be released on a single disc, but this will be the Cartoon Network version only. Other boxes are not actively planned due to brisk sales of individual discs. No upgrade plans for existing Cowboy Bebop single disc owners due to the logistics involved.
Escaflowne Vol. 8 may have a Maaya Sakamoto concert as an extra, featuring Yoko Kano on piano.
According to Jim Lazar's report, Urban Vision hopes to get the new Vampire Hunter D movie into wider release than Princess Mononoke aiming for at least the top 8 markets, hopefully top 20. VHD 2000 Premiers in Japan and Korea in April, in the US probably late summer (September was mentioned).
English is the original language for this title. Japanese and Korea wide releases will actually be in English with Japanese/Korean subs.
A DVD release is likely for Christmas with tons of extras since UV has been involved from the beginning with the production. It will have Japanese and English languages and most likely anamorphic.
> In April, the International Channel is very excited to bring
you the following movies - all movies will be in Japanese
with English subtitles -

We will present the Academy Award winner Derzu Uzala,
directed by Akira Kurosawa, in Russian with English subtitles,
on April 29 at 1 am Eastern time (which is the same as
April 28 at 10 pm Pacific time) (repeated from April 1 at
1 am Eastern time, which is the same as March 31 at 10 pm
Pacific time). Please note - this movie is three hours long.

For more information about these movies, please visit our web
site after April 1 -

Also, in April and the first week of May, IC will air all
five Captain Tylor OVA's. These will air on the following
dates - The Spellbound #1 bluelines and proofs have been approved. The book will print this weekend, ship next Friday and be in stores 4/11. Be sure to watch for both covers, one by Tomoko and one by Chiho Saito!
Mobius Klein #1 was supposed to ship as well but scanning vs. screentone problems have delayed it. I should have proofs tomorrow and if approved it will ship with Spellbound #1. However, I have to be 100% certain it will be perfect as I will not release an inferior quality comic.
The color proofs for Dark Angel:Phoenix Resurrection #3 have also been approved. That book goes to print this weekend as well and will also be on sale 4/11. Dark Angel #4 will actually follow soon there after. Issue 3 looks awesome. My favorite color page was in #2 but this book has some simply awesome color work thatis going to blow people away.
Yoshitoshi ABe's ESSENCE has been all laid out and formatted. Just waiting for the final proofs on that. A little update: at ABe-sensei's request, we are adding 10 pages of full color art!! He will also be doing some original pieces just for this collection which will also now be sold in Japan.
I have just received word that we finally have an on sale date for Sidekicks #3. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, look for it in shops on 4/25.
Look for the 200 page Kia Asamiya Sketchy Situations sketchbook on that day as well!
After numerous printing foul ups and delays, the Blue Monday shirt should be in shops soon too. Keep an eye out.

Some bad news for fans of Takara's Transformer line. The series is currently run its course (for the mean time) overseas, thus no trully new Transformers were on display in Tokyo, Japan. All that is, but ONE.
Introducing Takar's new interactive robot: WEBDIVER. This figure is very impressive as far as what it does- acting pretty much as a Remote Game Console (Nintendo, PS.) Connect Webdiver to your TV and jack in for loads of interactive video game fun.
Webdiver is also true to the Transformer line in that it does transform. Morphs into a "super train" for further video game excitment and also comes loaded with tons of add-on vehicles. Pretty much appearing as a jumbled, mish-mash of Takara's previous Car Robot line all rolled into one- placing this ingenius techno-toy rather low on this reporters aesthetic scale.
Also on display were some Webdiver PVC kits (Japan loves these things) - a 3-pack figure set and some build-em-yourself 4" sets.
Yamato completes Macross Plus series- plows on into original Macross!
Though the U.S. licensing issue over Yamato's hyper-detailed, transformable Macross Plus Valkryie series still lingers in limbo- the company continues to push forward. On display at their Tokyo showroom was an exclusive look at their new prototype- what appears to be the VF-1A (pictured above) from the original Macross series.
The company has also wrapped up work on their Macross Plus series, which consists of the YF-21 Omega (released), YF-19 Alpha (released), and the VF-11B Thunderbolt (coming soon). All are comprised of diecast and plastic parts and can be transformed into three modes: Gerwalk, Flight, and Soldier.
Let's all keep our fingers crossed that Toycom will eventually succeed in their licensing talks and get these awesome toys here in the US SOON.

4-2-01---- Fanboy April Releases
From the Fanboy Entertainment Forum post by C.B. Cebulski:4-2-01---- Trigun Manga In U.S.?
Wizard issue 116's Manga Dream Team article featured some interesting formation about Trigun. The article matched manga franchises with American comics artists they would like to work on the series. Trigan was matched with Michael Turner, best known for his work on Fathom. Under the Reality Check section the article stated "Negotiations aren't final, but there's a damn good chance a certain Fanboy (Entertainment) will improve the Image with new, full-color comics in 2002. And Michael Turner just might do the covers…"
4-2-01---- DBZ FAQ Updates
Excerpted from the updates to the official FAQ at www.dragonballz.com
A: There just would not be any Dragon Ball Z in North America without our censoring it because the Japanese company who owns it would never have allowed it into North America without having it broadcast on TV and broadcasters would never take it without censoring. In addition to our uncut versions, we produce a direct translation version on DVD with original music and voice and we subtitle it in English.
A: We plan to move forward with GT as soon as we are finished with DBZ. Therefore, the earliest videos would be available is 2003.
A: Currently we have the rights to Movies 1 - 6, of which we have released 1-3. We are planning to release Movie 4 in the fall, and movies 5 and 6 should also be released within the next 12 months.
A: Expect us to continue to release episodes on home video and DVD as fast as retailers will take them until we have completed the series. Cartoon Network plans to air approximately 50 episodes beginning this September and finish the remaining episodes starting in September 2002. Here is the home video release schedule for the next 3 months:
March 20: Great Saiyaman - Declaration; Great Saiyaman - Gohan's Secret
April 17: Perfect Cell - Temptation; Perfect Cell - Perfection
May 15: Great Saiyaman Crash Course; World Tournament - Junior Division
We provide both the uncut and edited versions. Be sure to look for these new splendorous videos at Musicland, Sam Goody's, SunCoast, Camelot, Best Buy, Target, Walmart, Blockbuster, Coconuts, Saturday Matinee, Record Town, Strawberries, the DBZ Store online and many other retailers.
