Each DVD package, disc, and contents of the Gundam Wing TV series is being themed on a different Mobile Suit / Pilot, this third volume focuses on Sandrock Gundam and it's pilot Quatre Raberba Winner. The first thing that's apparent when opening up the case of GW DVD 3 is Bandai Entertainment is bent adding more and more goodies with each release. In Vol. 2 we found the addition of the mail in card for the Gundam Wing Action figure, and this volume, along with the next card needed for the Wing Gundam figure, there is Foil Wing Gundam Zero trading card from Upper Deck, a nice mini-promotional poster for Bandai's Gundam Wing Model kits, color liner notes wth schematics of Sandrock and the 3rd Gundam Wing TV DVD.
On the disc is a cool 31 second commercial spot for the Gundam Wing model kits, all video contents are easily accessed from a Gundam Cockpit themed menu. Extras include bios for Quatre, Sandrock, and Trieze. Trailers present are a mega-teaser for the Gundam 0083 OAV series, as well as one for Blue Sub No. 6, Jubei-chan and Escaflowne.
Episodes 11-15 of the series make up the real content of this disc. A serious turning point in the story unfolds as the Gundam Pilots face their first serious defeat. Is Heero Alive? Wufei and Nattaku faces the enemy aloneand meet Sally Po. Trowa claims he will fight his last battle. Zechs is eager for a final battle in Antartica, when an unsuspected ambusg is made.
As is the norm for nearly all of Bandai Entertainments DVD titles, Operation 3 holds a solid Dolby Digital stereo soundtrack in both the English and Japanese audio, crisp subtitles, and very sharp MPEG2 encoded video.
Gundam Wing Vol. 3 was released Sept. 19th, it has a running time of 125 minutes and retails at $24.98.
