Dragonball Z is the only show from the Cartoon Network to make the list of top 20 cable shows. The only other animated series on the list were Rugrats and Spongebob, both from Nickelodeon. Dragon Ball Z tied with Rugrats for number 7 on the list of all cable shows. All the shows above Dragon Ball Z and Rugrats were non-animated shows, meaning that Dragon Ball Z tied for the top animated series on cable for the week of September 25th through October 1st.

Update on the Anime Festival portion of Access Japan 2000, here in Toronto, at the Royal Ontario Museum's 300-seat Theatre ROM. This weekend was the last of the four.
It was a roaring success. The shows were a double header of Kiki's Delivery Service and Madcap Island, followed by a showing of Princess Mononoke. Buena Vista and Alliance Atlantis provided us with 35mm prints of Kiki and Mononoke. Both the Saturday showings were completely sold out, and we had over 180 people for the 10:00 AM Sunday show. We ended up selling out the final, 1:45 PM Sunday showing of Mononoke by noon that day. Mr. Takahashi of the Japanese Consulate came by just before we sold the last one, and immediately began making arrangements to get permission for an encore showing of Princess Mononoke. Once again, the response was terrific, with the special, unscheduled encore performance attracting another 200 viewers. And like on previous weekends, few of the people the volunteers saw were recognized from the anime clubs in town or from the conventions. Most seemed to be completely new to anime. Over four weekends, the event raised well over $12,000 for the Toronto Hospital for Sick Children Foundation. The cost of the event was completely covered by sponsorships.

All I can say is that we have voluntarily spent hundreds and hundreds of hours detecting and debugging Multimedia 2000 Inc.'s ver.1.0 BGC DVDs, correcting errors and glitches, and offered new materials when we felt they were necessary. We helped incorporate these changes and create a new set of DLT's (ver. 2 point something) for BGC Disks 1-4.
However, to be honest with you, I have no idea what exactly is being replicated and/or shipped right now, since it is another company's product (and I have not seen the actual box set yet myself either) -- AnimEigo does not make any decisions related to replication, choice of DLT's, scheduling, packaging, shipping, etc. as far as the BGC DVD Set is concerned.
The symptoms you are describing are characteristic of the ver.1.x disks played on many machines.
Sorry I can't be more specific at this time.
