It's been quite a while since you've heard from us here on the Amanosworld list. We've been working very hard to update the website and put up lots of new art for you to enjoy. There will now be regular updates so check back often. Many of the updates will be art that is exclusive to the site. You won't see it anywhere else! Make sure to check out the "Weekly Amano" section to see new and unpublished art. We will be keeping a back log of a few weeks of updates, but after that, we will be removing them. Be sure to check out the art while it is up! This week will feature a special Halloween greeting and art series from Amano. We're also working to add some exciting new items to the store and a new forum will be open soon for discussing artwork and the projects on which Amano has worked. There are many exciting new things happening here at Amanosworld and we look forward to sharing them with you.
Sincerely,
Amanosworld Staff

A big welcome goes out to all of AnimeXtreme's Newest suckers, I mean, members! Be sure to pick up your membership cards at the next show.
Highlights include the original City Hunter TV series starting at AnimeXtreme, By order of Akira Kamiya the GOD of all voice actors, and voice of our beloved pervert/hero "Ryo Saeba", he has ordered Silver to start showing all City Hunter episodes if Silver wants him as a guest at CNAnime'01 ^^ mokkori..mokkori??
Furi Kuri is also beginning at Axe. It is uh, GAINAX! Hello?!? For our members that don't know, Gainax are them brains that worked on some show called "Evangelion". This one's a no brainer, you must come and see it. It's a robot anime, but not a robot anime. What is it? There's a huge iron in the middle of the city. A robot comes out of a kid's head and insanity begins... need I say more? Actually, it's Gainax trying to reinvent the "robot anime" genre/stereotype and taking HARSH shots at Yoshiyuki Tomino (Gundam creator) while there at it! Woohoo! Good for them. Take that for abandoning the newtype concept you punk. Vol. 2 will be the REGION 2 DVD BABY! with english subs for those that wanna check it out.
meo Then there's the movie with the insanely long title, the movie is even more insane than the title! The title means "This is the Police Box in front of Kameari Park"! Based on the popular manga which is OVER a 100 books (and u think dragonball and ranma is long?) and known as the longest running cartoon serial in Japan. Come find out why Ryotsu is "the man!", well..sort of... He's a self proclaimed "OTAKU" of everything AND a cop. And he's got his own chogokin toy! ^^ They don't make movies like this anymore folks. It's simply nuts. You will laugh so much you'll cry. A Canadian Premiere! Widescreen. ANOTHER REGION 2 DVD! WOOHOO!
Please meo excuse our technical difficulty as a little black cat decided to scamper around this message.

"Does that mean Devilman Amon? And if so will it be bilingual? Also will you be releasing the original Devilman oavs with a Japanese track, now that you have the rights?"
Manga's response: "AMON Saga," and "Amon: The Apocalypse of Devilman" are two different titles. We are looking into getting the later as well. We will not be re-releasing the original series with Japanese language tracks, though."
On another Devilman note, a petition to bring the Devilman PSX game to the U.S. has been setup at this very comprehensive resource on the series.

"Will Dragon Warrior 5 and Dragon Warrior 6 be released in the US? Can these be packaged in anthology form for the PlayStation?
Enix does not currently have plans to release Dragon Warrior 5 or 6 in North America; however, we will revisit our plans and consider releasing these games to help "fill in the gaps" for our fans if the demands for these games grow."
2 days after the U.S. launch of Sony's Playstation 2 to the U.S. market Japan's Asahi newspaper has mentioned videogame producers Sega and Nintendo will combine their efforts by setting up a new joint company. Citing Sega's recently announced financial losses based on poor Dreamcast performance, the company mentioned it's not basing its future exclusively on Dreamcast - even though it is planning to continue to support the console. Sega mentioned it wants to reinforce the network gaming side of its business and has decided to go into a joint venture with Nintendo and well known J-music producer Tetsuya Komuro (who has worked with Namie Amuro, Ami Suzuki, and Globe).
Just to let you know, Catherine stood in line for over 5 hours last night to get AnimEigo a PS2, and as a reward, she's getting to spend the day watching all the UY DVDs on it. So far she's spot checked all the sequences that have caused problems for some people on some players, as well as watched the entire first DVD, and it's been flawless.
More details as they become available.

There will be a new schedule for all three Toonami franchises (Toonami, Midnight Run, and Rising Sun). ReBoot's last week on the block for a while (it will be back, my friends) will be the week of November 6. The next week, a new lineup begins, but things are, as usual, subject to change.
Monday through Fridays:
4 PM: Gundam Wing
4:30 PM: Sailor Moon
Monday through Thursdays:
5 PM: Dragon Ball Z
5:30 PM: Tenchi
6 PM: Batman
6:30 PM: Superman
Fridays at 5 PM: Toonami Movies (The First Four):
November 10: Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz
November 17: Batman/Superman: World's Finest
November 24: DBZ: The World's Strongest
December 1: Batman: Mask of the Phantasm
Surprised? You shouldn't be. After all, in July on this site (and officially in September), it was announced that all the episodes of Batman AND Superman will be seen on Toonami this year. And lo and behold, there it is? What were you expecting, Outlaw Star? Well, it's still coming, read on.
For the first time since it's relaunch in March from a weekly overnight block on Saturday nights to a weeknight hour block, Toonami Midnight Run has a new lineup. Gundam Wing (uncut) is on the outs (don't worry, you can still buy the DVDs, they're worth the price!), and Tenchi is in the block. And before you ask, NO, Tenchi won't be uncut. There are network standards you know (people getting naked and all is kind of stuff is a no-no on a basic cable network). Slightly edited? Not sure, but they're airing the episodes at 12:30 AM EST/PST, and with a couple of episodes running overtime, cutting into the trillionth rerun of Scooby Movies is not a bad thing (vote Courage!). You be the judge.
So the new TMR lineup will be Dragon Ball Z at Midnight and Tenchi at 12:30 AM EST/PST.
Rising Sun's lineup is a mishmash of things, and the lineup IS changing soon, either on November 11 or November 18. One thing's for certain. Gundam Wing WILL be seen on Saturday afternoons at 12 PM EST/PST followed by Dragon Ball Z (kind of like the old TMR lineup, eh?) Wait, the confusion is growing (and you thought the PS9 commercials were bad). One schedule shows the World's Finest Team taking over the Thundercat hour on Rising Sun at 10 AM EST/PST (hmm, Batman vs X-Men: Evolution [premiering in November] on Kids' WB, could be interesting) while another one shows Thundercats staying on. One schedule shows Sailor Moon leaving Saturdays and in it's place, the North American television debut of Outlaw Star starting on November 11 at 11 AM EST/PST, while another shows the pretty soldiers back to back with Tenchi and company. Head hurts, will delay posting a lineup until things clear up.

The Monday, October 23 issue of the Los Angeles Times includes a feature article about Eagle: The Making Of An Asian-American President within it's "California Living" section. This is not the first time the Los Angeles Times has featured Kaiji Kawaguchi's manga works. In 1990, the L.A. Times ran a piece giving critical acclaim to Kawaguchi's military thriller manga "Silent Service", calling him "the Tom Clancy of Japan." If the L.A. Times is available in your area, don't hesitate to read up.

ADV FILMS AND DIC ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCE RELEASE OF SAILOR MOON
ADV Films is proud to announce their recent acquisition of the home video rights to the first 82 episodes of Sailor Moon, the #1 television series for girls on the Cartoon Network's "Toonami" programming block, from DIC Entertainment.
Sailor Moon is the story of Serena, a junior high school student who discovers that she has mystical powers and is destined to protect the world from the evil Queen Beryl and the fiends of the Negaverse. Gradually, Serena assembles a team of Sailor Scouts to help her battle the forces of darkness in the name of Queen Serenity of the Emperium. Sailor Mercury, Sailor Mars, Sailor Venus and Sailor Jupiter round out the rest of Sailor Moon's team. Sailor Moon is given her powers by Luna, a trusted advisor of Queen Serenity, who takes the form of Serena's cat and sticks with her through thick and thin.
The Sailor Scouts must take on the dwellers of the Negaverse, while also dealing with the problems of adolescence. Bad grades and crushes at Crossroads Junior High can be just as fearsome as the forces of evil. All the while, Serena moves slowly toward her destiny, to save the universe as Neo-Queen Serenity in the name of the Moon. It's not easy being a pretty soldier.
An anime sensation that has appeared in the "Lycos Top 50" consecutively for the past 41 weeks, Sailor Moon is a proven multi-billion dollar brand in specialty and mass channels, with products ranging from toys and games to clothing and school supplies. Sailor Moon appears Monday through Friday at 4:30 p.m. on the Cartoon Network during the "Toonami" block of programming, and is seen by over 1.1 million viewers a day. Cartoon Network also airs Sailor Moon on Saturday mornings at 11:00 a.m.
Next month, ADV Films will begin releasing the 82 original episodes of the fabulous Sailor Moon television series. The first 2 VHS cassettes, which include 4 episodes each, will be released on November 21st and will contain the English-dubbed, family/children friendly version of the show, as seen on television. Each tape will introduce episodes never before seen on home video and will carry the suggested retail price of $12.98 each. Other VHS volumes will follow shortly thereafter.
ADV Films, the premiere label of A.D.Vision, Inc. formed in 1992, is North America's #1 distributor of Japanese animation ("anime"), with titles such as Neon Genesis Evangelion, Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040 and Martian Successor Nadesico. ADV Films also distributes American and Japanese live-action programming for theatrical and television broadcast release. Check out ADV Films on the web at www.advfilms.com.
