It would be a logical conclusion that they're behind this: it's no secret they're not happy about the war's resolution any more than the UPSF is. Worse, there was that very recent situation with the weapon developed in Raalgon laboratories first seen in "An Exceptional Episode." Then, there's that situation with Yuriko in "If Only the Skies Would Clear" where she was kidnapped by Raalgon agents and forced to rewrite her report. It certainly looks like the shooting is going to start up once again, and this time it won't end until both sides are utterly destroyed. Jockeying for position in this upcoming war, neither side has given their situation a great deal of thought ... but it appears to each that the UPSF might have an advantage this time around. Having developed their own secret weapon and now being able to deploy it, the UPSF has the Raalgon forces concerned. This new weapon is almost as destabilizing as the Raalgon anti-shield weapon ... but it renders most of the UPSF's ships obsolete. For some in the high command, though, there is a tiny nagging voice in the back of their minds. Could something else be going on here? Find out in the final volume of the Irresponsible Captain Tylor! One of them is that she's in love with a boy, but she hasn't told anyone about it yet (not even the boy)! In an effort to explain the way that she feels about him, she's written and performed a song which she's resolved she'll play for him. This, she feels, will fix everything and the two of them will live happily ever after. There's only one small problem: this particular song magically transports her somewhere very far from Earth indeed. She winds up on Earth's dimensional sister-world Ashanti, from which she can see her own world as a mirage in the distance. At first, there doesn't appear to be much difference between these two worlds, but when the dogs start talking and robots (along with the local army) are out after her Walkman, the differences become clear. Ashanti's best days are in the past, and one of the more ambitious leaders is out to leave his own world and make Earth his. Doing this is forbidden, and there used to be guardians who would have prevented it. The current leadership, however, has systematically eliminated this theat. Only two obstacles now remain: first, the scientists have to figure out how to move through the dimensional barrier and second, there's that legend about a warrior who will appear and stop them from doing it. Trouble with that legend is that there are none of these warriors on Ashanti anymore. At least, that's what everyone thinks. It falls on Yohko and her newfound friends to stop an army armed with huge fortresses and millions of soldiers before it can invade Earth. This task should be impossible for anyone, but maybe Yohko isn't quite as ordinary as she thought.
