Working with Rock The Vote and the participation of anime organizations in the US, eigoMANGA has the sole focus of encouraging more young people to register and increase youth voter turnout.

eigoMANGA hopes to encourage fans to become involved in the political process by incorporating cutting-edge trends of anime entertainment into its campaigns in hopes to make political participation more appealing. "537 votes in the entire country enabled George W. Bush to win the presidency in the 2000 election, let's see how hundreds of thousands of new voters who happen to be anime and comic book fans will effect things this time around", asks Austin Osueke, CEO of eigoMANGA. "With the current presidential election running at a virtual dead heat, American anime fans collectively have the ability to be the deciding factor in this election".

eigoMANGA has immediately utilized its various business segments to promote the importance of voting to it's audience. eigoMANGA currently conducts voter registration through its website and through its live events. Printed voter registration forms are included in future eigoMANGA comic book publications such as RUMBLE PAK and SAKURA PAK. The company will also produce and broadcast public services announcements on it's television program, ANIME MIX. The company is utilizing it's upcoming live concert event, RUMBLE INVASION as a non-partisan youth rally. And eigoMANGA will utilize its market reach within the anime/comic book industry to encourage it's business partners and counterparts to support this initiative.

eigoMANGA has experienced early success in blending anime with politics. Back in the spring of 2003, eigoMANGA produced a live event at San Francisco State University, called CAMPUS INVASION. 9-29-04---- Yamauchi Wants Nintendo In Anime Business

Nintendo's Former President Hiroshi Yamauchi told reporters in Tokyo today that he has plans for Nintendo to break into the anime business. Pending business conference approval next month, the company is expected to take a more prominent role in the creation of anime movies based on its games. In the future, the company may also make games that are based on characters that debut from its anime movies. Historically, few animated films have been made using the company's characters, and the ones that are green-lighted have always been licensed to other production companies. “I'm thinking of suggesting that [Nintendo] make movies, and to have them run in conjunction with game releases," commented Yamauchi to the press. "I want them to be something that will be accepted overseas as well as in Japan. The production of games and animated movies are relatively similar. It's something that the management [at Nintendo] will decide, but it's the kind of field that we should be going into. Nintendo can take the risk." Source: Gamespot

9-29-04---- Melissa Joan Hart To Star In Hollwood Samurai Girl: RBHS Film

TOKYOPOP Inc. has made good on its pledge to "take manga to the big screen and beyond." The leading North American graphic novel publisher has inked actress Melissa Joan Hart (Sabrina, the Teenage Witch) and screenwriter Dan Gordon (Wyatt Earp, The Hurricane) for a live-action feature film development project inspired by Samurai Girl: Real Bout High School (SG: RBHS), one of its top manga and anime properties.

"The storyboard aspect of manga is already custom-built for film," said Steve Galloway, TOKYOPOP's Executive Director of Film/Television. "And with Hart and Gordon attached to this story's fast-moving adventures, we have all the makings of a terrific cinematic package for teens."

The project materialized after TOKYOPOP was introduced to Hartbreak Films, the producers of Sabrina, the Teenage Witch and other quality family series and movies. Seeking out fun, new starring vehicles for Melissa Joan Hart, Executive Producer Paula Hart reviewed several anime/manga properties before one in particular caught her eye. The SG: RBHS manga called for a strong, dynamic female lead with the same qualities for which Melissa Joan Hart is famous. They immediately began looking for a writer who could do justice to "Ryoko," the manga's protagonist. "Our journey led us to Dan Gordon," Paula Hart recalled. "Dan took a few weeks reading the material and then delivered a story that had us sitting on the edges of our seats. It is smart, funny and terribly exciting."

Dan Gordon describes the script as "a delicious action/comedy mix of Clueless meets Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon." It's the story of an ancient Samurai warrior reincarnated as a twenty-something-year-old sushi bar hostess. Ryoko discovers she is mankind's only hope in destroying a coven of murderous wolverines who are hatched every 5,000 years and-if left unchecked-will destroy all humanity. TOKYOPOP and Hartbreak Films are now in conversations with potential studio partners for the project.

The Chicago Sun Times interviews Samurai Jack / Dexter's Laboratory creator Genndy Tartakovsky on his recent Emmy wins. The popular CN feature also gets a few questions directed to his coming work on ASTROBOY:

..."you move onto writing and directing the big-screen adaptation of Osamu Tezuka's "Astro Boy." What can you tell us about it?
A. I just finished writing the script. It's a mixture of live action and CGI.
Q. Directing live action is new for you. Are you nervous?
A. The way I wrote it, it's more like 80 percent CGI to live action.
Q. And the plot?
A. Basically, it's just his origin. I'm a fan of the original manga [Japanese] series, so I've tried to stay true to the origins. It's about a scientist who loses his son in an accident and creates a robot version of him. I read as much as I could from the comics and tried to take away the heart and gist of it.

Her name, where she’s from, and why she was almost about to drown in a pond. But fate would have it though, that a dashing young man with blonde hair and a wing for his right arm would rescue her. Somehow, deep down inside, this young man puts her at ease, and as she had lost all of her memories, she asks him to name her. With a face expressing the mixed emotions of sadness, remorse, and hope, he names her Bambi. However not all of it is pleasant as she finds out that she is a princess and that her companion’s family has sworn to get revenge on the royal family for unjustly killing their parents. Witch Class, a truly unique and hilarious love comedy by Lee Ru. Whether it be owning a pet pony, becoming a princess, or marrying Tom Cruise, every young girl has one dream or another. Dorothy, who’s just regular middle school girl, has a drastic change in her dreams when one day she runs into Mistress Lilly, an accomplished witch who is looking for an apprentice. Sure, some girls would want to become a witch so that they could learn to make love potions, or own magical cats and rabbits that talk… but where’s the fun in that? Our cute heroine would answer this question by replying : “I’d want to become a witch to live out a romantic life that every girl wishes for… you know, like turning the world into a dark hellish cauldron, making everyone bow to me, and summoning cute zombies, tee hee hee~!” Oh yes, and what kind of comedy would this be without having all the hyperactive crazy sub-characters that make the heroine seem like a senile old lady in comparison. First, you have Dorothy’s close friend Remi who doesn’t seem to understand you’re only supposed to take just 1 prozac pill a day. Then you have Lilly, the witch, who’s fashion sense would make Madonna and Britney Spears blush. And finally, we can’t forget about Dorothy’s main love interest, a cute boy who’s only problem is that he’s a werewolf who wants to eat her alive! There now, see how normal all this is~? Ha~! Yeah, sure~! You don’t know the meaning of the word ‘funny’ until you’ve read Witch Class! And that’s not all folks! As with any evil author who likes to give you a really good cliffhanger, Miss Lee manages to get past all the comedy towards the end of each volume to develop a story readers will wring their heads over (until they get see the next book that is~!). Availability Witch Class # 1 will be available in December 2004. Each 192 page graphic novel will be priced at $9.95. Visit www.infinitystudioz.com for more detailed series information.
